Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join our growing team. This role is full-stack, with a focus on backend development. Our backend developers are required to deliver high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerant applications for our trading platform.

Responsibilities

  • Experience building backend applications that run in containers (ECS, Kubernetes)
  • Prior experience in fintech or other high throughput/low latency field. FIX protocol experience is a big bonus. Understanding of trading concepts, order types, matching engine logic.
  • Experience with real-time communication (websockets), and message queuing systems like (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc).
  • Proficient in caching technologies like Redis, Memcached, etc.
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP)

Required Skills / Experience

  • Professional Experience: 3-7 years.
  • Languages: Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem. Additional experience building with one or more of the following languages is required (Go, Java, C/C++, Rust, Zig, etc).
  • AWS Experience: Must have multiple years of experience working with and developing tightly with AWS services. 
  • Data Expert:  Proficient with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB). Experience optimizing queries and designing efficient schemas for high-volume data.
  • API Development: Strong understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design principles and security practices. Experience with high throughput systems where latency, memory efficiency, caching, and fault tolerance are at the forefront of design.
  • Testing proficiency: Being able to write unit and integration tests using vitest, jest, and/or cypress. Must also be able to share prior experience stress testing and performance benchmarking.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with CI/CD using github actions and AWS CDK.
  • Experience with web assembly (WASM)
